High School Training
I was trained "classically" as an artist. From a young age, I was taught how to look at a still life and see the shapes between vases, how to measure the angle of an eye, and what the right amount of paint to make skin tone looks like. But one has to start somewhere on this journey, and like many artists before me, I started by copying the masters. I paged through huge art books in search of what I wanted to paint next, each option looking better than the next! Here is just a sampling of some of the oil paintings I did during middle and high school. Looking through these is like traveling down memory lane!
